Compress JPEG photos for websites, email, and uploads
Make large photos easier to share without changing their pixel dimensions or converting them to another format. JPG and JPEG are the same image format. Compression re-encodes the photo with a fixed quality setting, so fine textures and detail may change. Keep your original for future edits.

How do I compress JPG or JPEG images?
Upload your JPG or JPEG photos, select Compress images, and download the results as JPEG. Both filename extensions are supported, with no settings to configure on this page.
Will my photos stay in JPG format?
Yes. JPG and JPEG uploads are saved as JPEG images. The filename extension may be .jpeg; .jpg and .jpeg describe the same format. Your photos are not converted to WebP or AVIF.
Can I compress JPG without losing quality?
JPEG compression is lossy: re-encoding can change image detail, even when the difference is hard to see. Check the downloaded photo at its intended display size. Use the bulk image compressor if you need to adjust quality or dimensions.
Can I compress multiple JPG files for free?
Yes. The Free plan supports up to 10 images per batch, within the file size and daily limits shown in the upload form. Download completed images individually or together as a ZIP. No sign-up is required and no watermark is added.
Can I compress JPG to 100 KB or 200 KB?
This page does not target an exact file size. Savings depend on the image content and how much it has already been optimized. An already compressed image can become larger. Compare the downloaded result with the original; use the bulk image compressor for quality and resizing controls.
