HEIC to JPG questions
Yes. JPG and JPEG are two filename extensions for the same image format. FastConvert produces .jpeg files on this page. Renaming a HEIC file to .jpg does not convert it; the image must be decoded and saved as JPEG.
JPEG uses lossy compression, so HEIC to JPG is not a lossless conversion. A higher JPEG quality setting can retain more visible detail at the cost of a larger file. Keep the original HEIC, leave resizing off if you need the original dimensions, and check a converted sample before processing the rest.
Use Keep metadata in the image settings to copy supported metadata into the output. Leave it off if you do not want to deliberately copy EXIF information such as camera details or location.
